I’ve always been a big fan of moisturizing. Slathering on some silky smooth lotion and massaging it in always made my skin feel better. Granted, this might have something to do with the fact that I have naturally dry, sensitive skin.
When it comes to moisturizers, I’ve likely tried them all. Different brands, different scents, different formulas and of course, different DIY moisturizers.
It wasn’t until my 20’s that I realized I needed a moisturizer with an SPF. My milky white skin was getting brutalized by unintentional UV exposure. Since I was already in the habit of moisturizing, it seemed sensible to find a product with moisture and SPF. More importantly, I needed an SPF rich lotion for my face.
I learned early on that protecting my face from the sun would mean brighter eyes, better skin and a more youthful appearance. Since I fully intend on looking 30 at 60, I take damn good care of my face and neck.
For a good year or two I swore by L’Oreal Revitalift with SPF. Once I greened up my skin care routine I took the time to read the label and low and behold, there were parabens. Time to swap things up.
I have built a pretty good relationship with the people over at Zenmed thanks to my love of their products. When I asked them if they could suggest a good facial moisturizer I received their Oil Free Moisturizer with SPF 30 in the mail the next week. Talk about good customer service!
The 411 on Zenmed Oil Free Moisturizer with SPF 30
This Zenmed moisturizer is paraben and chemical free. It also doesn’t contain any animal by products, lanolin, synthetic dyes or fragrances and they don’t ship it in wasteful packaging. Their slogan is “Creating products with a conscience” and they really live up to it.
As the name suggests, this is an oil free moisturizer and it is designed for sensitive skin. Their description of it boasts a non-greasy feel that is ideal for under makeup or all over the body use.
Blended with plenty of vitamins – like A, C, D, E, that’s half the alphabet, don’t ya know! – green tea extract and aloe, it not only moisturizes, but soothes and calms your skin. Got rosacea? No worries, this is the perfect product for your sun sensitivity.
What I Loved About this Moisturizer
I loved how quickly the moisturizer absorbed and it sat nicely under my makeup. I use it regularly on my face, neck and chest and I must say, a little goes a long way!
The bottle is twice as big as your regular moisturizer and for $30 you can breathe easy knowing that it will outlast any other facial moisturizer you’ve tried in the past.
What I Loathed About this Moisturizer
As I’ve mentioned, I’m a big fan of Zenmed products. They suit my sensitive skin and always work amazing.
That being said, their “non greasy” description was a little off. It feels kind of greasy, which made me think I was going to break out using it.
I kept waiting for the inevitable, but it never happened. If you can wrap your head around the consistency, you’ll love it.
If you’re looking for something smooth, rich and with an SPF, give the Zenmed Oil Free Moisturizer with SPF 30 a try and rest assured that it will keep your skin soft and protected, no matter what the weather!
