So as you guys know my hubby and I recently made the move over to Thailand where we have been living cheap and working hard. While here I have also discovered another amazing benefit of living on a Thai island – Coconuts!
Well, more specifically I have learned first hand the true benefits of Coconut Oil for skin care. I mean, we’re talking softer skin, healthier skin, and skin that somehow looks younger even though it gets constantly blasted with UV rays…no matter how much SPF I slather on.
Naturally, I couldn’t keep this revelation to myself any longer so I decided to shoot a quick video to teach all my fellow skincare lovin’ sistahs how you can harness the benefits of Coconut Oil for skin and make your own cleanser and moisturizer!
A few days ago I got all spontaneous and booked myself and my fiance a last-minute trip to the Caribbean for the week. To say the least, we were excited. So excited in fact that I forgot all my favourite skincare products at home! *face palm*
So instead of just going completely au naturale and embracing my dirty oiliness, I decided to go au naturale but in a different kinda way.
Dull, dry skin is never a good look for us ladies. Of course makeup can be a girl’s best friend but sometimes even that just doesn’t cut it. So what’s a girl to do when her skin is achin’ for a little lovin’? You spritz of course!
A simple facial mist spray is easy to find, but why shop for one when you could whip up your own?
I mean, not only is it cheaper but it’s better for your skin and it’s just so damn fun to DIY!
So are you ready to get this DIY facial mist spray parrrtaaaaay started? Sweet, then click play!
This week I’m keepin’ it mean and green and teaching all you skincare lovers out there, who are looking to add a little green to their lives, how to make organic skin products.
Not only are they great for your wallet, but they are great for your skin and great for our planet. It’s a win-win-win kinda day today! So how does one make their own organic skin products? [Keep Reading]
It may come as a surprise but we here at BES loooove to get our DIY on. I know, you must be shocked.
But here we are, at it again, DIY’ing up a storm and A’ing a Q we received from Jennifer on how to make an exfoliating treatment for our more sensitive skinned sistahs.
“But V, didn’t you already teach us how to make a microdermabrasion treatment at home?”
That’s you by the way, and the answer is yes!
However, this time around I’m giving you a couple of tricks on how to exfoliate sensitive skin. Including a remedy for those ladies who like their exfoliators on the more gentle side, and one recipe for those women who like it, ummm, well, hard.
One thing I hear quite often from our readers, girlfriends of mine, or just people I’m creepily eavesdropping on (yes, I’m an admitted eavesdropper) is that no one likes looking, or feeling, older and will do just about anything to hold onto their youthful, and stone-cold sexy, good looks.
That’s why when Suzanne wrote in with a refreshing take on aging I felt the need to divulge my biggest anti-aging epiphanies on how to age gracefully.
Curious to know what they are? Well, then click play on this sexy beast and let’s get to it!
This week I’m mixing things up. Sorta.
I’m still keeping it real and giving you actionable skin lightening treatments that you can do at home, but I’m also getting a little deep this week.
Yep. Real deep.
In fact, this week on top of my DIY tips I’m also dishing out some unsolicited advice, inspired by our girl Morrissey who wrote in with an A about how to lighten her skin.
You see, I hear from many different women of many different ethnicities that they wish they had lighter skin, or that they are just not happy with how their skin looks. And that makes me sad to hear.
So I decided to give my opinion, even though ya didn’t ask for it, on how we ladies should start feeling about ourselves and how we look.
Stretch marks SUCK. Yeah I said it! And it’s not just me who feels this way. Leslie, our Aussie sistah, also agrees with us.
In fact, she wants to avoid stretch marks so badly that she wrote into us with a Q about the best stretch mark prevention tips, so she could stop ’em before she got ’em.
And we don’t blame her! I mean, not only are they unsightly, but they can also be downright difficult to get rid of them once you have them. Which is why it is usually best to try and prevent them before they pop up.
So how does one avoid these annoying, discoloured lines from showing up on your skin? Simple. You click play on my mug and learn some of the most simple, effective, and best stretch mark prevention techniques, so you never have to deal with them again.
Well ladies, it’s happening. I’m turning 31derful in a few short days and in celebration of this wondrous occasion I’m keeping this post short, sweet, and to the point.
Last week we got a Q from one of our readers, Tracey, who wanted to know how she could minimize the annoying wrinkles that have recently been popping up on her skin.
And since I understand where girlfriend is coming from I A’d that bad boy with my favourite natural anti-aging treatments and even got my lip sync on because I’m the birthday girl and I can do whatever I want. *foot stomp*
So click that big sexy play button and let’s get this partaaaay started, shall we?
Dry, dull skin is usually left for the cold, dry, bleek winter months, but our girl Caroline wrote in this week with a Q about how to rid her face of bleh skin so she can start rocking newer, healthier, younger looking skin.
So we A’d that Q with some microdermabrasion at home tips and even threw in a little cheesy lip synching, because that’s just how we roll!
Which means you should probably click that big sexy play button and let us throw ya some mad knowledge on ways to use microdermabrasion at home, for only TWO DOLLAS! That’s right, two dollars make you holla!
