A review on Nature's Way efaGold Coconut Oil

If you haven’t heard about the benefits of Coconut Oil yet, the only thing I can assume is that you live under a rock.

For the past year or so people have been going loco over this oil. From hair and skin care to cooking and much, much more, you can find a million different ways to use it. Okay, maybe not a million uses but you see what I’m getting at it.

Coconut oil is abundant in antioxidants. Extracted from the “meat” of mature coconuts by pressing, the final product is high in lauric, capric and caprylic acid. These acids make up the antifungal, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties of the oil.

Basically, coconut oil is a one-stop-shop for cleansing and moisturizing as well as nourishing and protecting your body.

Wanna Know More?

With increasing popularity, several companies have released coconut oil products in the market. Some use genetically modified coconuts, others don’t package extra virgin 100% oil so it’s important to know what you are buying.

This is where Nature’s Way EfaGold Coconut Oil comes in. It is a lab-tested organic, non-GMO, hexane-free, unrefined, pure extra virgin cold pressed oil. It also contains MCT’s which are medium-chain “good fats.” Your body uses these fats to produce energy.

Nature’s Way even acknowledges the many great uses of coconut oil on their label. From cooking to hair and skin care they have offered directions with appropriate portion sizes and timing.

For example, they suggest using 2 teaspoons 1-2 hours prior to showering as a replacement for hair conditioner.

Why It’s Hot

So, why would you buy Nature Way’s EfaGold Coconut Oil over other brands?

Besides being certified organic and developed in a country that’s actually home to coconuts, their product is pure extra virgin.

Using pure extra virgin coconut oil over other kinds of coconut oil means that at no point was the product heated or subjected to sunlight. This maintains the raw status so the quality of the coconuts is never compromised.

The taste and smell of Nature Way’s EfaGold coconut oil is incredible too. It’s part of what makes it such a great cooking ingredient AND beauty product.

Another thing I quite liked about this particular brand of coconut oil was its price point. Packaged in 16oz containers and moderately priced, you definitely get what you pay for. Can’t always say that about other products, now can you?

Why It’s Not

Nothing is ever perfect and the same rings true for this product. Though I would absolutely recommend it as a general body moisturizer I do not suggest you use it all over your face. Coconut oil is considered a comedogenic which means it can clog pores and may exacerbate acne.

However, this reaction only occurs in some skin types so if you want to give it a try and see if it works for you, do so. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you!

One more thing; when it comes to cooking be sure not to overdo it. Though coconut oil is a great alternative to other more fatty oils, when consumed in large quantities, you will counteract all its healthy attributes.

And there you have it, my new love; Nature Way’s EfaGold Coconut Oil. Great for your body, hair and insides, meaning you should definitely grab yourself a bottle. Just remember not to overdo it because too much of a good thing is never a good thing!

Price Options

Damn girl, this stuff is CHEAP! Priced at only $8.99 on Amazon.com for a 16 oz tub, this one is definitely not going to break the bank.

  • I use it every time I bath!! It’s awesome!! The perfumed lotions leave my skin dry and burning from the perfumes in them. Coconut oil does not. And I put it in my hair on weekends I’m off!! Totally awesome on the shine. I also use tea to wash my face every night and morning. No soap. What a difference !! Thanks for the confirmation on the benifits of coconut all natural oil. Barb!!
