Homemade Anti Aging Mask: DIY Your Way to Younger Skin

A quick and easy homemade anti aging mask

It may look like dessert, but it’s not! What is it? Well, it’s a simple and cheap way to shed the years off your face.

I mean, let’s face it – nobody wants to age, but since we can’t avoid it we might as well do it gracefully.

There are literally thousands of products on the market, all claiming to be your ticket to younger, brighter looking skin. Sadly, most of these products are ripe with chemicals and toxins (seriously, who wants that on their face!) and often times don’t work.

It’s my firm belief that if something is safe and healthy to eat, then it is more than okay being smeared on my face.

Sounds a little outrageous, but the theory behind it holds true. That which is good for your body, should be good for your skin. This is why I dig DIY’s so much.

So yeah, I promised you a potent and homemade anti aging mask and I intend to deliver.

Gather up your reusable shopping bags gals, because we’re about to hit up our local markets!

In your bag you will want:

  • 1 ripe Avocado
  • 3 tablespoons of Raw Chocolate Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Matcha Green Tea
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk

Beautifying Benefits

Before we get to the How-To portion of this tasty homemade anti aging mask, I’m going to tell you why it’s going to breathe some more youth into your skin.

These little green powerhouses provide much needed moisture to your face. They consist of 85% fatty acids (think Omega-3 heaven!) and are shockingly water-dense, meaning they’re perfect for keeping you hydrated.

A valuable source of Vitamin E and antioxidants, avocados reduce premature aging by neutralizing free radicals that can wear away at your face’s sensitive skin. To top it all off, their natural anti-inflammatory properties reduce puffiness and support the elasticity of your skin.

Raw Chocolate

The tastiest ingredient in the recipe! In its purest form it is a carcinogen fighting, antioxidant rich age-fighter.

When our hormones and pH get out of whack it can have devastating effects on the appearance of our skin.

Raw chocolate will help keep everything balanced so we can focus on looking and living like our inner child.

Matcha Green Tea

This exotic ingredient is a specific kind of Japanese green tea that offers 500% more antioxidants than the leading antioxidant fab food, goji berries.

Ten times more powerful than regular green tea with its polyphenols that fight inflammation and wrinkling, you should be able to find this loose leaf tea easily.

If you don’t have a health food store in your town (hey, I’m not judging! I grew up in a small town) then grab some off Amazon.com!

Almond Milk

This sweet nectar is a wonderfully hydrating beverage that offers an abundance of Vitamin E which has commonly been used to fight against sun damage.

Make sure you buy unsweetened because you don’t want added sugars to wreak havoc on your otherwise clear skin.

How-To Time!

Just like baking a cake, all you need is a bowl, your ingredients and a spoon to make this tasty homemade anti aging mask….not that I eat my homemade masks. *sigh* okay I do occasionally eat my organic skin care products.

But I digress. Back to DIY’ing…

Whip everything together until it is nice and smooth then slather it onto your clean face.

Let it sit for 20 minutes for best results then rinse off with lukewarm water, pat your face dry and follow up with an anti aging moisturizer.

Your skin will look instantly brighter after using this recipe. By incorporating this potent homemade anti aging mask into your weekly routine, you should begin to see benefits within the first 30 days!

Quick, simple and effective anti aging; just how it should be!

Hi Vanessa! Just want to say first if all, LUV your website!!! I stumbled upon it last month and have to say I’m hooked. I live Dyi’ing and you have made it easier and more fun for me. I can’t wait to try this decadent facial but had a question about the “Raw chocolate”. Is that the same as unsweetened cocoa powder? Please verify so that I can get to getting gorgeous:) Thanks a Bunch!! Hope to hear from ya soon.

  • Hey Jenna, thank you SO much for the kind words! You just made my day :-)

As for raw chocolate…yeah you could use 100% real cocoa powder or 100% unsweetened, unprocessed chocolate. Either way you should be able to find both at any natural food store!

Hope that helps and again, so happy to hear you’re digging the site :)

  • I had to buy the Matcha tea and the raw chocolate power via Amazon.
