Papaya Extract: The Secret Home Remedy For Skin Whitening

Written by 2 comments

The Ultimate Home Remedy for Skin WhiteningI think that the cooler months are the perfect time to think about whitening my skin. This may have something to do with the fact that I’m from Canada and we rarely see the sun during the long winter months. On the other hand, it could also be that summertime induces the desire for tanned, glowing skin.

For those of you that yearn for lighter skin regardless of the time of year, then you’ll still appreciate this post.

I’m going to share a home remedy for skin whitening that I developed using safe, natural ingredients. But first, I’m going to bust 3 common myths about skin whitening for you.

Myth #1

Skin Whitening Can Damage  Your Skin

I’m not going to say that certain ingredients in skin lightening and whitening products aren’t harmful, but it’s all about reading the labels. Ingredients like hydroquinone and monobenzone can be quite hard on  your skin, so you need to be aware of these.

Other ingredients that are commonly used include retinoids and antioxidants. These are incredible for your skin, but it’s all in the formula.

Myth #2

Once You Have Attained The Skin Shade You Want,  You Can Quit

Quitting’s for quitters. Just because you’ve finally achieved your desired skin shade, doesn’t mean you can give up.

Whether you’re using a home remedy for skin whitening or a store-bought product, their goal is to prevent the production of melanin. It’s melanin that gives your skin it’s coloration.

Your body will not automatically stop producing melanin so if you want to maintain your desired skin shade you are going to have to commit to a skin whitening/lightening regimen for the long term.

Myth #3

Skin Whitening Products Cause Your Skin To Become Sun Sensitive

There’s nothing in an actual skin whitening product that makes you sensitive to the sun. Most products suggest staying out of the sun because the sun promotes melanin production. Obviously increased melanin production doesn’t help lightening your skin shade.

To make the most of your products avoid the sun or stay covered up when you are in it. Allow sunscreen to be your new BFF!

My Home Remedy For Skin Whitening

Now that I’ve blown some myths to smithereens, it’s time to share my secret home remedy for skin whitening. It’s a natural DIY recipe that uses the power of papaya to give your skin a gorgeously fair glow.

To make this papaya skin whitening cream you are going to need:

  •  1 tablespoon Papaya Extract
  • 1 cup Shea Butter
  • 1 tablespoon ground Beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon Almond Oil
  • Blender

Step 1 – In your blender, mix together your shea butter, almond oil and beeswax. This is the base of your cream.

Step 2 – Once everything is nice and smooth, add in your papaya extract. Blend on high for 30-60 seconds so it can really integrate itself.

Step 3 – Scoop your cream into a sterilized jar for safe keeping. Store in a cool, dark place.

Papaya extract is a great ingredient to use when you are making a home remedy for skin whitening.  The enzymes in papaya promote skin renewal and cell turnover for perpetually lighter skin. The antioxidants present also naturally lighten your skin.

Oddly enough, almond oil is a good skin whitener. The composition of this oil helps get rid of dark spots, scars and other impurities that can cause your skin to look darker. Also, the vitamin E in it helps protect your skin from sun damage.

Of course, the best skin lightening creams inject your skin with lots of moisture and that’s where our shea butter and beeswax come in.

If you’re looking to lighten and whiten, try my secret papaya infused cream. Let me know what you think of the recipe in the comment section below!
