Acne is embarrassing. I know everyone says that they have tried it all, but I have seriously tried it all. I have spent over $5,000 in acne treatments alone. From over the counter products to seeing different specialists, I had tried everything in my power to try and clear up my face.
Especially if you are like me who had it til the age of 32! I was in the process of giving up when I finally discovered BlueMD. I had suffered with acne all of my life and nothing seemed to work. And believe me, I tried it all.

All my apprehension was relieved when I heard that!
I started doing a little bit of research and price comparisons, as I like to think I’m a smart shopper.
First site I went to was my go-to shopping site, Amazon. Their price was good, but not as affordable as I had expected. Next, I went to Ebay and found a good deal but no warranty or refund guarantee. Finally, I went to BlueMD’s website where I found, surprisingly, the best deal! The price was comparable to the cheaper websites but also offered free shipping!
Now for anyone who orders products online you will know that free shipping can end up saving you heaps of money, so it was a no-brainer for me!
I immediately ordered my Blue Light Therapy device and within days I had it in my hands and was on my way to glowing skin!
How and why it works
Essentially, Blue Light Therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment. It works by killing acne causing bacteria. The main difference, and the one that sets this product apart, is that it only works on the acne itself. It doesn’t cause the skin any irritation like many of the other harsh creams and gels out there that are full of chemicals.
Another bonus is that Blue Light Therapy doesn’t surpress the immune system or cause damage like using antibiotics over time might. That was a huge plus for me as a few years back I had a bad reaction to a prescription treatment I had been given, so that was a big relief to me!
The proof is in the….light
There has been 20 years of research done on this technique and so far only positive results have been found. The BlueMD reviews stated that studies showed that the product was safe for both teenagers and adults, making it easy to share amongst your family if there are multiple acne sufferers.
These studies also showed that light in the 405-420nm range was highly effective in killing p.acnes bacterium, the bacteria that causes 90% of all acne.
And on top of all of this, the BlueMD bulb, when used in a normal fashion, lasts up to 3 years without needing to be replaced!
So not only am I saving money on countless creams, serums, and gels, but I also don’t have to keep spending my money on replacement bulbs!
The downside
The only thing I didn’t like when first trying the BlueMD device is that it tended to make my skin a little dry. It didn’t hurt, it just needed a good moisturizer, and some extra TLC. Within weeks of discovering the dry skin, I found a moisturizer that worked perfectly with my skin type and I was on the path to perfect skin!

This is seriously an exciting new area we’re moving towards in regards to acne treatment. Although there are many people who have seen results from this technology, it’s just not quite there yet as far as an at home solution go.
In terms of results, don’t expect to get as clear skin as what you would after long term application of an acne kit like that of Exposed Skin Care’s because you definitely won’t.
Hopefully this is just the beginning and over time we start to see some more effective home acne solutions that use the same technology as BlueMD.
